Reports, profiles & credits

In AstroCarto, feature access, report allowances, stored-person slots, and AI credits are separate. Check the action you are taking before interpreting a limit: opening a completed report, generating a new report, saving another person, and asking AI a question do not use the same unit. A large credit balance does not unlock every feature or replace a missing report allowance.

Which limit am I looking at?

Start with the exact message next to the action, rather than the plan name alone. These four units answer different questions:

UnitWhat it controlsHow to interpret it
Feature accessWhether your account can use a particular action, such as a complete city comparison reportAccess must include that action. Having enough AI credits does not substitute for it. Check the action-by-action conditions.
Personal Report allowanceHow many matching complete Personal Astrocartography Reports can be generatedA report being generated can reserve an allowance before completion. This is separate from AI credits and from allowances for a Personal Birth Chart Reading.
Stored-person slotsHow many birth-detail records you can keep in your accountThe unit is a stored person, not a destination, report, or logged-in device. Comparing three cities for one person does not mean storing three people. See store and reuse birth details.
AI creditsUsage for credit-based actions, including billable AI questions and new complete city comparison reportsCheck the cost of that action and your remaining credits. Credits do not automatically become Personal Report allowances, stored-person slots, or unlimited city-tool access.

For example, if your account has AI credits but no remaining Personal Astrocartography Report allowance, the credit balance does not answer whether you can generate that report. Open the Personal Report action and check its allowance message. If you instead want to ask a question about an available result, that is an AI-chat action with its own conditions.

Current plan quantities are listed on pricing. Existing purchases can have different included benefits; use your original purchase and the account's current action message when checking older access.

What does each action use?

Identify the output first. A city card, complete report, downloaded file, and AI reply can be part of the same research session while following different usage rules.

ActionUnit or condition to checkWhat happens to usage
Generate a complete Personal Astrocartography ReportA matching report allowance, plus the report's input requirementsGeneration reserves an allowance; successful completion consumes it. The account's used count can include reserved reports. A free preview does not itself grant a complete report. Follow Personal Report generation.
Generate a new complete AI City Comparison ReportComplete-comparison-report access and at least 50 AI creditsA successfully saved new report uses 50 credits. Displaying comparison cards is a different action. Follow the complete comparison report.
Generate the complete Find My Best Places reportComplete-discovery access and the matching discovery previewThis discovery report does not use a Personal Report allowance or the comparison report's 50-credit charge. Do not apply the comparison cost to every report. Follow Find best places.
Ask a billable AI questionAn eligible AI entry and enough available AI creditsThe current billable question cost is 10 credits. Guest trials and other eligible trial questions are separate; read the entry's message before submitting. A report purchase does not make all follow-up questions unlimited. See asking AI about results.
Open an existing completed report or download its available PDFThe correct account, report record, readable status, and any required accessReading or downloading that completed record is not a new report generation. Use its existing report entry rather than submitting new inputs.
Store or update birth detailsYour stored-person capacityAdding a person uses a slot; updating the selected stored person's details does not create another person. Saving a city in My Places is a different object.
Check a city or run the basic city comparisonThat tool's free allowance or unlimited accessThese tool limits are separate from AI credits and complete-report generation. A remaining credit balance is not a count of free city checks.

A usage example: one comparison, a return visit, and a question

Suppose you compare Paris, Lisbon, and Berlin for Career & recognition. The following is an arithmetic example with hypothetical account conditions, not an actual charge or a generated city ranking. Your account has complete-comparison-report access and 100 AI credits at the start; no other action changes the balance during the example.

  1. From the map generator, enter the intended birth details, open Compare Cities, choose those three city suggestions and the career goal, and run the comparison. Reading the comparison cards does not by itself generate the complete report.
  2. Choose the complete-report action. If the new report completes and is saved successfully, it uses 50 credits, leaving 50. Keep the report's cities, goal, and date so you can recognize it later.
  3. Return through My Astrology Reports and open that completed comparison. This reads the existing report; the example balance stays 50. Downloading its available PDF is also a different action from generating another report.
  4. If you then submit one eligible billable AI question, it uses 10 credits, leaving 40. Check the chat entry's context before asking; opening a saved comparison does not guarantee that every AI entry receives that comparison as context.
  5. If you change the goal or cities and request a new complete comparison report, it needs its own access check and 50 credits. A balance of 40 is insufficient. An extra Personal Report allowance or stored-person slot would not solve that shortfall.

The useful record is “comparison report: −50; reopen: no new generation; billable question: −10,” rather than “three cities used three reports.” Your account records, other activity, and the actual action outcome determine your real balance.

Am I reopening a result or creating new research?

To read a completed report again, open My Astrology Reports in the account that generated it, choose the matching report type, and check its cities or scope, goal where shown, and date. Use the report-reopening steps if you cannot identify the record. Its status and read access still matter; not every unfinished or unavailable record can be opened.

What you doHow to treat itWhat to check next
Open the matching completed recordRead an existing resultConfirm that its original inputs and goal still answer your question. Do not create another request just to find it.
Correct birth details, change the comparison cities, or choose another goalNew research conditionsRecalculate the appropriate workflow and check its generation rules. A stored-data edit does not rewrite an old report or PDF.
Submit exactly the same report request againThe system may find an existing matching report or an active jobPrefer the existing record or status entry. Matching includes more than a city name, so do not assume every resubmission will be reused without charge.
See a report still generatingWork in progressKeep its status or return entry. A Personal Report allowance may still be reserved. Repeatedly clicking a generation button is not a way to release it.
See a failed reportA mode-specific failure, not a universal refund promiseRead the message, check for a completed record and the relevant usage record, then use a retry only when offered for that report.

For a complete comparison report, the generation-failure message “No credits were used” means that failed attempt did not consume its 50-credit charge. It does not promise that the next successful generation is free. If the report says it is already being generated, wait for that attempt's outcome instead of starting changed requests.

Personal Reports use report allowances rather than the comparison-credit rule. A recoverable generation can retain its reserved allowance; an allowance is available again only when that reservation has actually been released. If a failure message and your remaining allowance disagree, keep the report reference and request help instead of assuming that every retry returns a slot.

Where can I check what changed?

Sign in to the same account before comparing records. Use the record for the unit you are investigating:

  1. Open Plan & Credits to check the current credit total and Personal Report used/total summary. The Personal Report used count can include a report still in progress; it is not simply a list of finished PDFs, and it does not cover every report type.
  2. Open Credit History for credit changes. Compare Created At, Type, Details, and Amount. A negative amount is a deduction; a positive amount is an addition. One-Time Credits and Subscription Credits are the balances after that row, not two additional deductions. Add those two balances to read the total after that entry.
  3. For a Personal Report allowance, compare the report's own status with the summary and its generation message. A missing credit-history row does not prove that no report allowance was reserved, because these are different units.
  4. For stored people, open birth-data management and count the records you kept. Follow stored-data capacity guidance when you reach the person limit.
  5. For a purchase or a missing grant, compare the order and payment reference using purchase and billing records. A payment receipt and a credit-usage row prove different things.

In the hypothetical comparison example, two usage rows of −50 and −10, with no other changes, explain a balance of 40 from 100. Do not interpret the same number appearing in a balance column as another charge. If your records differ, note the action, approximate time and time zone, report reference if available, exact message, and the rows you are comparing. Send those details through support, without a password or full payment-card details. You do not need to buy again just to investigate a usage discrepancy.
