Start & inputs
What information do I need to create an astrocartography map?
Enter the person's birth date, local clock time at birth, and birthplace. Select the correct city and country from the place suggestions; the birthplace is not the destination you want to study. If you do not know the time, select I don't know my birth time and keep the result identified as estimated. Start with the map generator.
Full guide: Prepare your first map.
How do I correct my birth time or birthplace in AstroCarto?
Correct the birth-details form, select the matching birthplace suggestion again when changing a place, and choose Generate Your Chart. Check the new map's displayed date, birthplace, and marker time before using it. Editing the form alone does not update the existing result. Updating a stored person's details also does not rewrite old reports or PDFs; rerun the research you need from the corrected input.
Full guide: Correct birth input.
Can I use astrocartography if my birth time is unknown?
You can use AstroCarto for preliminary exploration with the unknown-time option. The map uses a noon estimate; that does not recover the missing time or make its line positions precise. Keep city findings and candidate order provisional. If you have only an approximate time, record that uncertainty rather than treating it as exact. Complete shared-place research, move timing, and complete Personal Astrocartography Report workflows have stricter time requirements, so check the mode you intend to use instead of entering an invented exact time.
Full guide: Birth-time limits by workflow.
Map & results
How do I change the visible lines on my AstroCarto map?
Use the planet buttons to toggle available lines. Hide All removes the displayed lines; Show All requests the complete display and can show an access prompt for locked lines. Turn an available planet on directly to restore a basic view. These controls do not change the birth calculation or prove that hidden lines are absent. Select a line to confirm its planet and angle before interpreting it.
Full guide: Map controls.
Why does a city check show no nearby lines?
First distinguish a city that did not resolve from a completed city result. Select the full city suggestion and check the visible planets. A No close lines summary can mean the visible lines are outside the tool's usual summary range; distant nearest lines may still appear. Hidden or locked evidence is another condition. An empty or weak visible summary does not establish that the city is unsuitable.
Full guide: No nearby lines and missing results.
Why do two astrocartography maps look different?
Match the birth date, local time, birthplace, and timezone handling first. Then compare the same output type, visible planets, angles, and selected point. Ordinary angular lines, Paran bands, aspect lines, and other map modes are different objects. Colours and screenshots alone cannot establish that a calculation is wrong; compare named planet-angle evidence, distances, and the method where available.

Workflows & reports
Should I discover places or compare cities I already have?
Use Find My Best Places when you need candidate ideas, Check City for one specified place, and Compare Cities for two to four realistic options under one goal. Discovery does not need to replace an existing shortlist. Check City uses visible map lines, while Compare Cities uses all calculated planetary lines, including hidden ones; keep that scope difference in mind when results differ.
Full guide: Choose a place-research workflow.
How can I find places when I do not have a shortlist?
Generate your map, open Find My Best Places, select a supported goal and region, and wait for the recommendations to update. Read the candidates' support and cautions within that search scope. The preview, complete recommendations, and complete report have different access conditions. A missing city is not automatically unsuitable, and a loading error is not an empty recommendation. Keep estimated-time findings provisional.
Full guide: Start candidate discovery.
How do I compare our shared support and individual cautions?
In a shared-place result, read the shared assessment and Where You Both Benefit, then open Both Personal Readings. Compare For You and The Other Person, including What Could Work Well and What to Watch. Keep any stronger pressure warning for either person in the decision. A common benefit does not cancel one person's caution, and similarly weak findings do not establish a balanced fit. Keep each person's unresolved conditions in your shortlist discussion.
Full guide: Read shared and individual findings.
Do I need to choose a city before studying moving dates?
Yes. AstroCarto's timing workflow studies one person's birth details, a selected destination, and one goal. If the question is still “Paris or Lisbon?”, choose or compare places first. Once a city is a concrete possibility, carry its full name, your goal, and accurate birth details into Best Time to Move. Timing does not choose the destination or resolve both people's practical calendars by itself.
Full guide: Check timing prerequisites.
What does it mean if no clear moving window appears?
First check whether you are viewing 3 mo, 6 mo, or the full 12 mo result. A shorter display can omit an existing later window. If the completed full result has no key window, it means none stood out for those inputs, city, and goal; it does not mean moving is impossible. Locked dates and loading errors are different states. Review the inputs and practical constraints instead of inventing a best day.
Full guide: No clear moving window.
How are a personal report and a city-comparison report different?
A Personal Astrocartography Report examines its own place portfolio across several life themes, with city findings and calculation evidence. A Full AI City Comparison Report compares your chosen two to four cities under one goal. Use the comparison for an existing shortlist; use the Personal Report for its broader geographic reading. Their places, scope, access, and usage rules are different. Generating one does not automatically produce the other.
Full guide: Choose the right report.
Why can a leading place still have mixed findings in my report?
In an AstroCarto Personal Astrocartography Report, first place is a relative priority within that report's evaluated places, not a win for every life theme. A Mixed verdict means competing signals remain. Read the leading place's theme findings, supporting evidence, and cautions together, then identify the trade-off that matters to your question. Confidence describes confidence in the assessment; high confidence does not turn mixed findings into an unqualified recommendation.
Full guide: Read the Personal Report verdict.
What context is attached when I ask AI about my result?
It depends on the AstroCarto entry you use. A city entry starts from that city's result; a comparison action can name the cities and goal without supplying every rank or evidence field. Include the actual findings you need explained. A Personal Astrocartography Report entry attaches selected context from that report; check the Attached report title. No entry should be assumed to read all account reports, the entire PDF, or every conversation.
Full guide: Check AI context before asking.
Access & billing
Why is a feature still locked after purchase?
Check the payment outcome, signed-in account, and whether the purchased offer includes the exact action. Then read the remaining-usage or input message. AI credits, report allowances, and stored-person capacity are different units; a positive balance does not unlock every feature. A report still generating is also different from missing access. Identify that specific issue before buying again.
Full guide: Paid but still locked.
Will reopening a report use credits again?
Opening a readable completed record does not itself create a new report-generation charge; its status and read access still matter. Use My Astrology Reports and match the report type, cities or scope, goal where shown, and date. Changing birth input, cities, or a goal can create new research with its own usage rules. A pending or failed request is not the same as reopening a completed report, and retries are not universally free.
Full guide: Reopen or generate again.
How do I check whether a purchase succeeded?
Compare the payment provider's completed transaction or receipt with the matching AstroCarto order in the purchasing account. Match the reference, amount, currency, and date. A checkout window or success-return page alone does not settle the payment or prove that a report finished. If the provider confirms payment but the order or access is missing, keep the reference and contact support before paying again.
Full guide: Check purchase status.
Which AstroCarto plan fits my research task?
Start with the output you need. Free access lets you explore the core map; Starter, when offered at download, addresses a map-file task. Pro covers repeated city checks and comparison cards, shared-place research, move timing, planetary pairings, and an allowance for Personal Astrocartography Reports. Ultimate adds complete discovery and city-comparison reports, cloud AI history, and larger allowances. Compare required actions and units with the actual offer; older purchases and account-specific upgrades can differ. Check current prices at checkout or on pricing.
Full guide: Choose access by task.
Data & account
Where can I find a report after closing the page?
Sign in to the account that generated it and open My Astrology Reports for supported Personal, Best Places, or complete comparison reports. Match the type, cities or scope, goal where shown, and date; check Completed and View report. Generating or failed records are not automatically readable. Maps, shared results, timing calculations, and chats have their own saving conditions; a saved city or related conversation is not the missing report.
Full guide: Find and reopen the right report.
Does saving a city save the whole report?
No. My Places saves the destination and its goal/status labels, separate from any one calculation. It does not save the person's birth details, chart evidence, complete report, or AI conversation. Use Stored Astro Data for reusable person records and My Astrology Reports for supported completed reports. If you need the reason a city matters, keep your research note separately; a goal label is not a written recommendation.
Full guide: What a saved place contains.
Which results can I export from AstroCarto?
Use Download Map for a map image such as HD PNG or JPG; its print option is for that map, not a written report. A completed supported Personal, Best Places, or AI Comparison report has its own PDF action, sometimes after Prepare PDF. Download Chat exports the available current conversation as TXT when its conditions are met. These files preserve different objects; exporting one does not also export the others or create cloud chat history.
Full guide: Export reports and other result types.
Does deleting birth details delete my old reports?
No. Delete on a person's card removes that stored person's birth details; Delete all removes the Stored Astro Data list. Existing charts, reports, and downloaded files are separate and are not rewritten or deleted by those profile actions. Confirm the person's nickname before deleting. If your request concerns another result or the account itself, identify that object and use its own management or support path.
Full guide: Birth-data deletion and its effects.
How do I delete my account rather than a saved profile?
Use the account-deletion page in the correct signed-in account and confirm the Registered email. Account deletion is irreversible, ends access, and also clears that account's Stored Astro Data; it is different from deleting one person's details while keeping the account. Keep any files you need first. Follow the page's self-service, support-assisted, or payment-processing result. Deleting the account is not an automatic refund or removal of device downloads.
Full guide: Prepare for account deletion.
Why can account deletion require manual review?
Completed purchases, refunds, active subscription records, or other billing conditions can require support-assisted deletion even when the current plan looks free. Follow Contact support to delete this account and send the request from the displayed registered email. A payment is still processing is a separate temporary-blocking result. A support request does not itself complete deletion or promise a refund or fixed processing time.
Full guide: Support-assisted account deletion.
Choose tools
Which astrocartography tools can help compare candidate cities?
For an existing shortlist, look for a workflow that keeps the same birth details and goal, accepts your actual cities, and exposes support, cautions, and trade-offs. AstroCarto's Compare Cities does this for two to four choices; use discovery first if you still need candidates. Choose around the output and explanation you need, including specialist chart settings or an adviser's discussion when relevant. A location reading does not guarantee life outcomes.
Full guide: Choose a comparison workflow.
What can free astrocartography software actually do?
“Free” can mean a core map, limited exploration, a trial, or a free download with paid features. Check the actual lines, location tools, account requirements, usage limits, saving, and exports rather than assuming that every output is included. AstroCarto's core map can be explored free; its further actions have separate conditions in Free & paid access. Compare those boundaries with the task you want to finish.
