AstroCarto vs Astro Gold for Astrocartography

Start with AstroCarto if you want to turn astrocartography research into a shortlist of places to live or travel. That helps you decide which destinations deserve a closer look—even when a promising city has mixed signals.

Both AstroCarto and Astro Gold offer maps and location reports. Astro Gold combines professional map controls with relocation charts and other astrological research tools. This comparison focuses on its desktop location tools and AstroCarto's workflow for finding candidates, weighing city choices, and continuing into questions about a partner or moving date.

AstroCarto or Astro Gold: which should you pick?

Choose AstroCarto to turn location research into a plan

For choosing between real destinations, we recommend starting with AstroCarto. You may have already explored Paris, Berlin, and Lisbon in Astro Gold or read a report for one of them. Your next question is how to weigh those options: career matters most, but home life and relationships also count. Compare Cities puts the same cities' career ranking, support, and cautions together; its cross-goal matrix helps you examine your other priorities before narrowing the list. A Full AI City Comparison Report explains the trade-offs, with a PDF you can keep and specific evidence to follow up on.

If you have no shortlist, Find My Best Places ranks candidates by goal and region. A Personal Astrocartography Report brings priority places, city deep dives, and five life themes into a broader assessment. Follow up on the result you are reading, then continue into shared-place or moving-time research when another person or a date becomes part of the decision.

Choose Astro Gold for professional map and chart controls

Astro Gold suits readers who want to work directly with In Mundo, Zodiacal, Local Space, and Paran settings, alongside relocation, relationship, and transit charts. Its relocation PDFs help you study the factors around a destination. If your immediate question is how several realistic options compare for your priorities, start with AstroCarto's city comparison and examine the support and cautions behind your research order.

Features at a glance

For the complete shortlist and detailed comparison-report workflow in this article, choose Ultimate. Pro covers personal reports, location readings, and basic city comparisons. AI questions and full comparison reports use credits. You can begin with a map and limited tool trials; see the pricing page for current allowances.

Astro Gold

The desktop license is US$249.99, with one license covering Windows and Mac. Its location tools include maps and relocation PDFs. Optional Professional Reports are separate add-ons; they should not be confused with the relocation PDF generated from the map.

iOS has separate subscription and lifetime purchase options, with mapping conditions that differ for existing purchasers. The desktop price is not an all-platform bundle. Choose the edition and location tools you intend to use before comparing purchase costs.

Interface: researching a city shortlist

Consider Paris alongside Berlin and Lisbon for your career. AstroCarto's example uses fictional birth details—January 15, 1990, at 12:00 in London. The Astro Gold image uses a separate Windows sample to show a natal chart alongside its map location. These examples illustrate the outputs you can work with using different birth details.

AstroCarto

Generate your map, add the three cities to Compare Cities, and select Career & recognition. Read their order, supporting signals, and cautions together. Then check Home & emotional stability or Relationships & belonging in the cross-goal matrix. This helps you examine whether the evidence behind your career shortlist also addresses the other priorities you care about.

Continue into a Full AI City Comparison Report for the reasoning behind the result. With the comparison context attached, ask, “Which signals support Lisbon for my career, and which cautions should I investigate before choosing it over Paris?” Use Check City or In-Depth Location Readings to inspect a destination's nearby signals, then return to the shortlist with a clearer question to resolve.

Astro Gold

Open Astro Locality Maps and display the chart wheel to inspect planetary positions, angles, and houses alongside the map. Cursor Relocation mode updates the chart as you move to another location. For a destination report, choose Report, enter the place, and generate its relocation PDF.

The relocation PDF covers planet-to-angle influences and Local Space directions, with nearby Parans also included in the desktop report. It gives you factors to examine for that destination. If you are weighing several places, the next useful question is how each city's support and cautions affect the same goal. AstroCarto organizes that group in one comparison, so you can investigate a close choice and check it against your other priorities.

In the AstroCarto result, Paris has the clearest career support, with Sun MC identified as its main supportive line. Lisbon is close behind but also has the most mixed signals. That makes it worth examining Lisbon's cautions before treating the two cities as equally promising. The Astro Gold image shows a natal chart's planetary positions, houses, and aspects alongside its Melbourne location marker—material for chart-level study.

Features: what happens after you find a place?

AstroCarto

Find My Best Places turns a goal and region into up to ten ranked candidates. Bring two to four realistic options into Compare Cities for a closer look. Its Full AI City Comparison Report keeps the reasoning for that selected group together: why the order matters, where each city has support, and which cautions deserve further checks. Save the PDF to revisit those trade-offs as you narrow your options.

A Personal Astrocartography Report has a wider scope: priority places, city deep dives, five life themes, an interactive evidence map, and birth-time and house-system sensitivity checks. The complete personal report example shows why a leading city still needs examination. Orlando leads its place portfolio, but the overall assessment is Mixed; supporting Jupiter ASC evidence sits alongside cautions and conflicts. Use those factors to ask what deserves closer attention before committing to a shortlist. This is a separate synthetic example from the Paris comparison above.

When a partner is involved, check the destination for both people. Find the Best Places for Two People separates shared support from each person's challenges, so a promising option for you does not stand in for the other person's reading. Once you have a city in mind, Best Time to Move examines that city, your goal, and a 3-, 6-, or 12-month window. Review the supportive periods and cautions alongside your practical moving schedule.

Astro Gold

Astro Gold's synastry and composite charts help you study the planetary relationships between two people. Its transit, progression, and dynamic map tools let you investigate astrological changes over time. These give you chart factors to examine when a relationship or a period becomes part of your location research.

For the next destination question—“Does Lisbon support both of us, and whose needs involve the larger trade-off?”—start with AstroCarto's shared-place assessment. It keeps each person's support and cautions tied to that city. Once the place is chosen, use its moving-time results to investigate periods for your goal. You can extend the original shortlist research to the people and timing involved in the move.

Create your astrocartography map

Have your birth date, birth time, and birth city ready. Generate your map, then choose a goal and region to find candidates, or add the cities you already have in mind to Compare Cities. For shared-place research, add the second person's birth details; for moving dates, choose a city and goal.

Frequently asked questions

How is a personal report different from a city comparison?

Compare Cities organizes two to four places you choose around one goal; its Full AI City Comparison Report expands the reasoning for those cities. A Personal Astrocartography Report brings priority places, detailed city assessments, five life themes, and an evidence map into a broader report. Choose based on whether you have a fixed shortlist or want to explore a wider location picture.

Do I need an Astro Gold chart to use AstroCarto?

No. Start with your own birth date, time, and birthplace in AstroCarto. It creates a new map from those details. The workflow here does not import an Astro Gold chart, report, or saved location list.

Why might the maps or readings look different?

Check the birth time, time zone, coordinates, selected lines, and type of result. Astro Gold offers In Mundo, Zodiacal, and Local Space map options; these are different settings, not interchangeable views. For relocation charts, also check the house system: AstroCarto's separate calculator uses Whole Sign, while Astro Gold offers several systems, including Whole Sign. Differences in settings or interpretation do not by themselves establish which result is correct.

How does AI use my chart or report?

AstroCarto can attach calculated map evidence, a city comparison, or a completed personal report to follow-up questions. Ask why Lisbon ranks close to Paris but has more mixed signals, for example. With that comparison attached, your question refers to its actual support and cautions. Use the explanation to identify what to investigate next; it does not guarantee what will happen in a place.

Where should I start if I have no candidate cities yet?

Choose a goal and region in AstroCarto's Find My Best Places to get a ranked shortlist with reasons and cautions. In Astro Gold, you can explore the world map and choose the planetary or Local Space factors you want to study. If you want an initial research order tied to career, home, or relationships, start with AstroCarto and examine the candidates that fit your real-world options.

Which should I use if I already have several candidate cities?

We recommend AstroCarto's Compare Cities when you have two to four realistic options, including when you have already studied their individual charts or reports. Enter your birth details, choose those cities and a goal, and read their support and cautions together. Check your other priorities in the cross-goal matrix, then use the Full AI City Comparison Report and follow-up questions to investigate a close choice. Keep the PDF alongside your own research into housing, work, and travel.
