Store and reuse birth details

Stored Astro Data in AstroCarto keeps birth details you explicitly store in your signed-in account, so you can reuse them in supported calculators. Store a person, select their record when you return, check the filled-in inputs, and run the calculation you need. Editing a calculator form, updating the stored person, and generating a new result are separate actions.

How do I store a person's birth details?

Sign in and open Stored Astro Data from your account menu. You can also use Manage beside the saved-person selector in a supported calculator. In the management page, select Add person. If you have already filled in a supported calculator, Store Astro Data lets you store that input instead.

  1. Enter a recognizable Nickname and choose Relationship: Me, Partner, Family, or Friend.
  2. Enter the birth date and local birth time. If the time is unknown, keep Birth time unknown selected rather than supplying a guess.
  3. Search for the birthplace and select the matching suggestion, checking the country and full name. Typed search text alone is not a selected location. In the management editor, the resolved timezone and coordinates can appear beneath the place field; check that they belong to the intended location.
  4. Confirm that you have permission to use and store these details, then select Store Data.
  5. Check that the person's card appears in Stored Astro Data. Confirm its nickname, relationship, birth date, birthplace, and birth-time status. Open Edit to check the exact saved time: the card may say Birth time saved instead of showing the hours and minutes.

Generating a map does not, by itself, create a stored-person record. Use the explicit store action when you want reusable input in your account. A stored person's record contains birth details; it is separate from a chart, a city shortlist, a report, or a conversation.

The example in this guide uses a synthetic record named Help sample B 20261104, labelled Friend: 15 June 1992, 08:30, New York, United States. We selected the New York suggestion at approximately 40.7127, -74.0060. This is a tutorial record, not customer birth data. The later change to 08:35 demonstrates editing; it is not a recovered or more accurate birth time.

How do I use stored details without entering them again?

In Stored Astro Data, select Use on map on the intended person's card. This opens the astrocartography calculator and fills in that person's birth details. Alternatively, use Choose a person or Select from Stored Astro Data in a supported calculator and select the record by nickname and relationship.

Before running the calculator, check the birth date, time or unknown-time state, and birthplace. Then use that calculator's normal calculation action. Applying details does not generate a new chart or reopen a previously generated result.

What you want to doHow to reuse the inputWhat still needs your action
Create an astrocartography map for a stored personUse Use on map, or select the person in the map form.Check the filled-in birth details and select Generate Your Chart.
Use another supported tool, such as the birth chart calculatorSelect the person in that calculator's saved-person control.Complete any tool-specific inputs and respect its birth-time requirements before calculating.
Research places for two peopleCreate the first person's map, open the shared-place feature, then select the second person's stored record in their input area.Check that the two people are correct and run the intended shared discovery, single-city check, or comparison.

In the tutorial, Use on map filled in 1992-06-15, 08:30, and New York, United States. No chart was generated as part of this storage example. To continue with two people, follow the shared-place preparation steps.

If you want to update an existing record from a calculator, explicitly select it under Choose a person first. A prefilled form alone does not establish which stored record an update should change. In the tutorial, the handoff filled the inputs while the selector still showed its placeholder; selecting the named record then displayed Update stored data.

A stored unknown birth time remains unknown when reused. Storing or selecting it does not meet an exact-time requirement. Use the birth-time limits by workflow before interpreting a limited result as a complete one.

How do I change the stored details, rather than only this calculation?

Choose the action for the object you want to change:

ActionWhat changesWhat it does not do automatically
Edit a field in the calculator formThe input for that calculator session.Update the person's stored record.
Select the stored person, edit the form, then use Update stored dataThe selected stored person's birth details, when the update succeeds.Generate a new chart or rewrite a previous result.
Open Manage, choose Edit on the person's card, then Save changesThe stored person's details.Replace inputs already sitting in another open calculator or revise old reports and exported files.
Select the updated record, check the inputs, and run the calculator againA new calculation using those inputs.Modify an older result that you kept separately.

The tutorial demonstrates why these steps matter:

  1. We selected the stored sample in the calculator and changed its displayed time from 08:30 to 08:35. Update stored data became available, but we did not select it.
  2. We returned to Stored Astro Data and opened Edit. The account record still showed 08:30. Changing the calculator form had not stored the correction.
  3. In the management editor, we changed the time to 08:35 and selected Save changes. Reopening Edit showed 08:35, and the number of stored people stayed the same.
  4. To use a correction in your next calculation, select the record again, check the filled-in details, and run the appropriate calculator. An existing open result is not evidence that it used the new time.

The stored edit in this example was verified by reopening the editor. We did not generate a new map or compare city results after changing the time. Keep any earlier result labelled with its original inputs instead of assuming its contents have changed.

If Update stored data is unavailable, first check whether you selected a record, changed a field, and supplied valid birth information. You can open Manage to review or edit the existing person directly. Use the person's existing record for a correction rather than adding a duplicate under a new nickname.

What do Export JSON and the delete actions affect?

Export JSON on the management page exports the account's stored birth records, including their birth inputs and location data. It is not an export of the chart currently on screen, a city result, or a report PDF. The management export covers the stored people in the account, rather than only one card.

ActionAffected objectWhat to keep separate
Export JSONA file containing stored birth records.Charts, city results, reports, and their own export actions.
Delete on one person's cardThat person's stored birth details, after confirmation.Existing charts and reports are not deleted by this action.
Delete allAll people's birth details in Stored Astro Data, after its separate confirmation.Deleting an account or managing existing reports is a different action.

For one person, check the nickname in Delete [name]? before deciding. Delete birth details is the permanent confirmation action; Cancel leaves the record in place. The confirmation states that the encrypted birth details are deleted and existing charts and reports are not deleted. Do not choose Delete all when you only intend to remove one person's input.

For the tutorial record, we opened the named confirmation and selected Cancel. The sample remained in Stored Astro Data; no record was deleted.

Why can I not store or use a person's details?

Check the message against the action you are trying to complete:

Message or situationWhat to checkNext action
You are asked to sign in, or expected records are missingStored Astro Data belongs to the signed-in account.Sign in to the intended account and open its management page before adding another record.
Your stored-person limit is reachedThe storage counter measures people, separately from AI credits and report allowances.Review existing people, edit the record you already need, or review the current plans if you need capacity for more people.
The birth details are already storedA different nickname does not necessarily make the same birth data a new person.Find and use or edit the existing record.
A record marked Me already existsOnly one stored person can be marked Me.Edit the existing Me record, or choose the appropriate relationship for another person.
The location or input is incompleteA birthplace suggestion must be selected, and the date plus a time or unknown-time state must be valid.Complete the missing input; selecting a birthplace supplies its location context.
A calculator requires an exact birth timeThe stored record's time is unknown or unsuitable for that workflow.Preserve the uncertainty and follow the relevant mode limits. Account capacity cannot supply a missing birth time.
A load or store request failsA failed interface message does not tell you which records are already present.Reopen the management list and check for the intended person before retrying creation.

Your current account counter and access message determine what you can add. An AI credit balance is not a count of stored people, and storing birth details does not itself grant access to reports or every research feature.

Open Stored Astro Data to review or store a person.
