Compare AstroCarto

Choose AstroCarto when your question is which places to investigate and why. Start with your birth details, find or compare candidate cities, and examine the support and cautions behind the result. Use the comparisons below to weigh that workflow against the maps, chart tools, or readings you already use.

When is AstroCarto a good fit?

AstroCarto connects a map to a place-specific question. Its advantage is the path from a candidate or city result to the evidence, trade-offs, and follow-up questions you can use to narrow your research.

Your questionWhat to use and what you getHow to use the answer
I do not have a shortlist yetFind My Best Places

Choose a goal and region to explore candidate cities with support and caution signals. Use the results to build a shortlist for closer research.

The search uses a supported candidate pool. A city missing from the list is not automatically unsuitable; check a named city separately.

Read the discovery guide

I already have one city in mindCheck City

Inspect nearby visible planetary lines, their angles, approximate distances, and strength. This connects a map reading to the place you actually want to investigate.

Read the planet, angle, and distance together. A close line deserves attention, but closeness alone does not make the city a better choice.

Read the single-city guide

I want to weigh my own city optionsCompare Cities

AstroCarto's Compare Cities compares selected cities around the same goal. Read the ranking together with each city's supporting signals, cautions, and mixed evidence.

Ask why the leading city ranks higher and what another option offers. Keep your goal fixed so the comparison answers one question.
We are researching a place for two peopleFind the Best Places for Two People

AstroCarto's shared-place research uses both people's birth details to discover places, check one city, or compare candidates. Complete shared results require reliable birth times for both people.

Review shared support alongside each person's benefits and challenges. If either birth time is uncertain, available information about one person is not a complete shared recommendation. This is location research, not a relationship compatibility score.
I have chosen a city and want to explore timingBest Time to Move

Keep the destination fixed and investigate time windows, supporting signals, and cautions. Use the result to decide which periods deserve closer attention.

This workflow needs accurate birth-time information. A window is a research prompt, not a guaranteed moving date or a replacement for practical planning.
I want to understand and keep the reasoningPersonal Report and result follow-up

AstroCarto's Personal Report brings location findings and their evidence into a written assessment. Generating a new Personal Report requires an accurate birth time. AI follow-up is available from supported results and uses the context of that result.

Ask which signals support a finding and what limits it. Keep personal, city-comparison, and other report types distinct; their inputs and scope differ.

Read the Personal Report guide

Already have two to four places in mind? Follow the city-comparison guide to read the ranking, cautions, and full report.

Keep a specialist chart program if its settings are central to your research, or choose a human consultation if you want an adviser's discussion. AstroCarto is useful when you want to organize actual city choices and understand the calculated evidence behind them. A location result does not guarantee work, relationships, or happiness in a place.

Still choosing between an app, software, or a map?

Start with what you need to do. A phone app may suit checking a place while travelling; desktop chart software may suit detailed chart work. AstroCarto runs in a browser and connects map research with city comparisons and result explanations. Check the exact platform and workflow before treating two editions of a product as interchangeable.

If your question is about planetary placements or relationships rather than places, use the birth chart or synastry calculator. A relationship chart answers a different question from shared-city research.

What should you check when comparing free access?

Compare the action you want to finish, not just whether a map is free. Generating a map, previewing a result, reading a complete report, exporting it, and asking follow-up questions can have different access conditions. AstroCarto offers free map generation; that does not make every report or research workflow unlimited.

Check AstroCarto's current plans and usage allowances for your intended task. For a wider view, read the software guide and its discussion of free access.

Try the same place question before you decide

  1. Keep your input consistent. Use the same birth date, recorded time, and birthplace. If the time is uncertain, keep it marked as uncertain. Birth-time requirements differ by workflow: generating a Personal Report and researching moving dates require an accurate time; complete shared-place results require reliable times for both people.
  2. Open the matching tool. After generating your map, use the result controls: Check City for one place, Compare Cities for your own candidates, or Find My Best Places if you have no shortlist. Choose one goal when comparing places so the results answer the same question.
  3. Read the reasons. Look for the planet, angle, distance, supporting signals, and cautions. A useful result helps you explain a trade-off, not just pick a name from a list.
  4. Ask the next question. From a result that supports AI follow-up, ask what drives the conclusion or why another city differs. Use that to plan what you still need to investigate.
