Save, reopen, and find your results
In AstroCarto, saving birth details, saving a place, generating a report, and keeping an AI conversation are different actions. Start by identifying the object you want back. A completed account report can be reopened from its report list; a map left on screen or a saved city does not mean every result from that session has been stored.
- Identify the saved object
- Check before leaving
- Reopen a report
- Understand temporary results
- Find a missing result
What is saved, and where should I look?
Use the destination that matches what you actually saved or generated. Signing in connects supported records to your account; it does not turn every open result into a saved report.
| What you want back | Where to look | What that record contains—and what it does not |
|---|---|---|
| A person's birth details | Stored Astro Data | Explicitly saved birth input. Applying a record fills supported forms; it does not reopen an earlier map or report. |
| A city you saved | My Places | The city, chosen goal, and status. It does not store birth details, charts, reports, or AI conversations. |
| A Personal Astrocartography Report | My Astrology Reports | The generated report for its original input. A free overview, when available, is a separate report state; an ordinary free map is not a saved overview. |
| A full Best Places Report | My Astrology Reports | The completed discovery report. Simply viewing a candidate list is not the same as generating this report. |
| A Full AI City Comparison Report | My Astrology Reports | The generated report for a particular set of cities and goal. The basic comparison cards alone are not this saved report. |
| A Best Time to Move result | The timing workflow, including a result-return link when AstroCarto provides one | Timing uses a separate saved calculation. There is currently no browseable timing-history list in My Astrology Reports. |
| A shared-place result | Your current shared-place session and any notes you kept | The browser can retain an input draft; that is not an account archive of the result for both people. |
| A map, Check City reading, or basic city comparison | The current map session; otherwise generate again from the intended inputs | Returning to an input form or a remembered map view does not prove the previous calculation was saved to your account. |
| An AI conversation | AI Chat History | Messages successfully synced while your account has chat-history access. An unfinished response or unsynced conversation may not appear. |
| A downloaded PDF or map image | The folder where your browser saved the file | A separate local file. Downloading it does not save the live map controls or a moving-plan checklist. |
For input management, follow how to store and reuse birth details. Updating a stored person's time does not rewrite reports already generated from their earlier details.
What should I confirm before closing the page?
- Decide what you need to keep: input, a city, a report, a conversation, or your own research note. Use the corresponding destination above.
- For a generated report, wait for completion and check that the report can be opened from My Astrology Reports. A request still generating is not a completed document, and a plan purchase is not a generation confirmation.
- Check the report's type, cities or scope, goal where shown, and generation date. If you need a file, use Download PDF on the completed report and confirm the download exists before relying on it offline.
- For a conversation, wait for the response to finish, then check AI Chat History and open the matching title. History access and successful syncing are both required; seeing a response in the chat dialog alone is not confirmation that it reached the history list.
- Keep your own decisions and unresolved questions separately. The product does not automatically store the work, housing, or moving-calendar notes you discussed outside it.
Reopening a report is the right check when you want to keep an existing result. Generating another report is a different action with its own current access and usage conditions; do not use repeated generation as a substitute for finding a saved copy.
How do I reopen the right report?
Sign in to the account that generated the report. Open My Astrology Reports from your account menu or go directly to the report list.
- Match the report type first: Personal Astrocartography Report, Best Places Report, or Full AI City Comparison Report. Other chart reports may also appear; a similar title is not enough to identify the same object.
- Compare its title, goal and city count where shown, and Generated date with your note. Check Completed and whether View report is available.
- Select View report, then confirm the cities, goal, and findings inside. Use Back to reports if you opened the wrong item.
- Read or download that existing report. If the underlying birth input or your research question has changed, keep the old report identified as the old result and use the relevant workflow for a new calculation.
For a concrete example, our synthetic teaching record contains a completed Full AI City Comparison Report titled Astrocartography City Comparison for Career: Paris, Lisbon, and Berlin. It appears with Career · 3 cities and a generation date of 3 November 2026. Opening it brings back the saved career comparison: Paris first, Lisbon second, Berlin third. This is a report-retrieval example, not a recommendation of those cities for your birth details.
The useful check is that the list item and the opened report refer to the same three cities and Career goal. Finding a Paris entry in My Places would only confirm that a city was saved; finding a related chat would only confirm that conversation. Neither substitutes for this report. See how to interpret the comparison itself when you want to review its evidence.
If a report shows Generating in background, Still preparing, or Not completed · Allowance restored, treat that as its current state. Do not assume its full content is already readable. Access restrictions can also affect whether a report is listed or can be opened; a missing button is not proof that another report needs to be purchased.
What about timing, shared-place results, and open maps?
Timing: Best Time to Move keeps a separate calculation, but the report list is not its history browser. If AstroCarto returns you to a timing result through a supplied link, confirm the city, goal, and date range. Reopening that result does not refresh it to a new year starting today. If you only have the general map URL, it is not a saved link to your exact timing window. Keep the window dates, timezone, outlook, and calculation period in your own note; use the timing guide when inputs change.
Shared places: a draft can restore inputs in the same browser session, subject to availability and its expiry. It does not contain the calculated two-person result. Before leaving, record both people, the selected mode, goal, cities, shared findings, and each person's cautions. Re-entering or restoring those inputs may require calculating again. Stored Astro Data can preserve the two birth records, but it does not save their joint city analysis.
Maps and basic comparisons: keep the original birth input and the exact cities and goal you used. A login return or remembered mobile map session is a convenience, not a promise of an account history across devices. A saved city supplies a destination for another check; the next reading still needs the intended person's birth details. A downloaded map image preserves a picture, not its interactive state.
AI history: open the matching saved conversation and check its date and messages. The history page lets you review stored messages; it is not a promise that every historical session can be continued in place or that upgrading later will recover conversations that never synced. For a new question, use the supported AI entry and relevant result context.
What should I check if a result is missing?
| What happened | First check | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| You paid but cannot find a report | Was a report generated, or did the purchase only provide access and allowance? | Check the generating account and report status before creating another one. A payment receipt alone is not a completed report. |
| The list is empty or the expected item is absent | Account identity, report type, generation date, and current access | Use the account that created it. Do not assume a different sign-in holds the same records. |
| An item is present but cannot be opened | Its status and access message | Follow that specific message. A generating or failed item is not the same as a completed readable report. |
| You can find the city but not the earlier reading | Whether you saved a place or generated a report | Reuse the city with the right birth details, or locate the separate completed report. |
| A conversation is absent or has no messages | Whether it finished and synced, and whether history is available | Do not treat the missing text as evidence the original question was never answered; syncing and answering are separate. |
| A map or shared result vanished after leaving | Whether it existed only in that session | Restore known inputs if available and calculate again; retain the uncertainty if the original settings were not recorded. |
If these checks do not resolve it, use Contact support in the Help sidebar. Include the report type and title, approximate generation date, cities and goal where applicable, the account used, and the visible status or error. A screenshot can help distinguish the wrong list from a failed item. Never send passwords or full payment-card details.
