02 / PRECISE MEANING
What Is the MC Line in Astrocartography?
MC stands for Midheaven, also called Medium Coeli. It is the upper intersection of the local meridian and the ecliptic and sits opposite the IC, or Imum Coeli.
In astrocartography, an MC line marks a geographic path where a planet was on that upper meridian angle at the recorded birth moment. The angle commonly directs attention toward:
- Public life and visible contribution
- Career direction and professional responsibility
- Reputation and the way work is recognized
- Leadership, authority, and accountability
- Long-term goals expressed in the wider world
- The roles through which other people know your work
The astrocartography MC meaning is not a promise of promotion or fame. It identifies an area of emphasis. The planet on the angle and the other lines near the location change how that emphasis may be experienced.
