AstroTheme Birth Chart and Ascendant
AstroTheme’s free birth-chart tool displays an interactive wheel, including your Ascendant, Sun sign, and Moon sign. Clicking chart elements reveals excerpts from your astrological profile. You can use it to explore placements in your natal chart before bringing a particular place into the question.
Astrocartography uses the same birth date, time, and birthplace to map where each planet was rising, setting, or crossing the upper or lower meridian at that moment. Your natal chart describes planetary placements for your birth; the map lets you examine how a destination lies in relation to those geographic lines.
Suppose you have been reading about career themes and receive a job offer in another city. You now have a location question to add to that reading: which planetary lines run near the proposed destination, and which areas of life do their angles emphasize in an astrological interpretation?
Generate your AstroCarto map with your original birth details, then open Check City for the destination. Read the visible planet, angle, approximate distance, and strength together. This lets you distinguish a line near the city from a more distant regional line before interpreting either for your move. Start with that city result; the comparison section below explains how to weigh it against other places you could choose.
If you are only looking for your natal wheel or Ascendant, AstroTheme’s birth-chart tool answers that task directly. The form above creates a separate AstroCarto location map for the point when a city or trip becomes relevant.
AstroTheme Planetary Placements and Interpretations
AstroTheme’s interactive wheel lets you click chart elements to read interpretations of your natal placements. When you move from that wheel to an astrocartography map, a familiar planet gains another label to examine: the angle attached to its geographic line.
A Venus line marked MC describes where Venus was on the upper meridian at your birth; it does not mean that your natal Venus sign has changed. The map’s AC, DC, MC, and IC labels identify rising, setting, upper-meridian, and lower-meridian lines. A planet’s natal sign or house and a planet’s geographic line answer different questions.
For example, in AstroCarto’s astrological interpretation, Venus MC emphasizes public appeal, creative work, and professional relationships, while Venus IC emphasizes comfort, home, and private life. If you are planning a quiet month away, the IC themes relate more directly to your question than the MC themes. That gives you a reason to investigate the angle instead of treating every Venus line as the same kind of destination.
The distance still matters. A Venus IC line crossing a broad region may be far from the town where you would stay, while another planetary line lies much closer. Check the town and compare the available line distances before making the distant IC line the focus of your reading. A theme that matches your goal is one part of the interpretation, not a promise of a peaceful stay. Venus lines require paid access; you can begin this planet–angle–distance check with the lines available on your free map.
If several nearby lines raise different themes, open Ask AI from the city result to ask how they relate to your quiet-stay goal. The follow-up includes the selected city’s planets, angles, and distances, so you can explore that combination after inspecting the result yourself. It does not import your AstroTheme interpretation, and AI access has its own limits.
AstroTheme Astrological Atlas and Birth Data
AstroTheme’s Astrological Atlas provides a city’s latitude, longitude, time zone, and Universal Time for a selected date. It helps establish the location and time used in a chart calculation. The atlas is distinct from a world map showing your planetary angular lines.
When exploring a possible move, keep the city where you were born separate from the place you want to visit or live. In the AstroCarto form above, enter your actual birthplace and local birth time. Select the destination in the result after generating the map. Replacing your birthplace with the destination changes the input instead of checking a second place on the same personal map.
Use the same reliable birth details you use for your natal chart, and choose the correct city when several share its name. If the time is unknown, mark it unknown; treat the map as exploratory because the angles and precise line locations depend on birth time. This keeps an uncertain input from looking like a precise city recommendation.
From a Birth Chart to an Astrocartography Map
Use your question to choose where to start:
| What you want to understand | Starting point | Next step in AstroCarto |
|---|---|---|
| Which lines are near a proposed destination? | Your birth details and a named city | Generate your map, then inspect the visible planets, angles, and distances in Check City |
| How does a destination compare with staying put? | Two realistic choices and one goal | Compare the cities and read both the supporting signals and cautions |
| Why does one familiar planet show different themes around a place? | A selected city’s line evidence | Check the angles and distances, then ask a focused question from that result |
The map on this page belongs to AstroCarto. It is not an AstroTheme feature, an imported chart, or a reproduction of an AstroTheme report. The free core map needs no sign-in; some planetary lines and advanced tools require paid access.
Compare the Cities You Could Actually Choose
When you have more than one realistic destination, a separate reading for each can leave you comparing different things: career prospects in one city and home life in another. Choose one goal for the whole shortlist so you can examine each city’s support, cautions, and contributing lines on the same basis.
After generating your map, open Compare Cities and add two to four places. Include your current city when you want a reference point. Read what contributes to each result before relying on the order: similar rankings may reflect different combinations of lines, and a career result does not also answer your questions about home life.
Check City describes the lines visible on your map, while the comparison uses all calculated planetary lines. An unfamiliar planet in a comparison can therefore reflect this difference in scope. The goal-based ranking is AstroCarto’s own analysis, not an AstroTheme natal-chart score.
When two options are close, open Ask AI from the comparison to discuss its findings with the selected goal and city evidence attached. Use that explanation to decide what to investigate next alongside work arrangements, housing, and family needs. Those practical conditions are not calculated in the score, and the result does not guarantee an outcome from moving.
If your interest in relocation comes before a shortlist, Find My Best Places lets you explore candidates by goal and region. Bring the places you could realistically choose back into the same comparison. City checks and comparisons have a limited free allowance; follow the access requirements shown for reports, AI, and other advanced actions.

AstroTheme and Astrocartography FAQ
Answers about AstroTheme birth charts and using AstroCarto to explore a destination.
What is AstroTheme used for?
AstroTheme provides birth charts, Ascendant calculations, planetary interpretations, relationship charts, forecasting tools, and a public celebrity-chart database. This page focuses on moving from an interest in your own natal chart to a question about a real destination, using AstroCarto’s separate astrocartography map.
Does AstroTheme provide the astrocartography map on this page?
No. AstroCarto generates the map and provides the city checks and comparisons. We have not found a public astrocartography map tool in AstroTheme’s current tool directory. Its Astrological Atlas supplies geographic and time information for chart calculations; it is not the planetary-line map shown here.
Do I need an AstroTheme account or chart file?
No. Enter your birth date, birth time, and birthplace directly into the AstroCarto form. It does not connect to an AstroTheme account or import its files. The core map can be generated without signing in, and the two services are independent.
Should I enter my birthplace or the city I want to move to?
Enter your actual birthplace in the form. After your map appears, use Check City or Compare Cities to select possible destinations. Keep the birth details fixed when checking different places on the same map.
Can I use the map if I do not know my birth time?
Yes, you can mark the birth time as unknown. However, the angles and exact line locations depend on it, so use that map for exploration rather than precise city guidance. Some advanced actions require an exact birth time.
Is the AstroCarto map free?
The core map is free without sign-in. City checks and comparisons have a limited free allowance. Some planetary lines, reports, AI, and advanced features require paid access or have additional usage limits; the product shows the requirements for each action.
